A stable logic is the key to clearing any obstacles today.
When we initially started with the hostel, we weren’t aware of the intellectual capacity of our students. They were curious but were severely lacking in terms of guidance. They were thinkers and needed someone to help them with the implementation.
Throughout our Math and English Q&A sessions, we realized that their self-confidence had dipped vastly. They were ignorant of their potential. Hence we started asking them questions we were certain they knew the answers of. The gradual development of self-esteem paved the way for the inculcation of logical brilliance.
We flourished them with games like “Connect-4”, ”Guess Who”, “Rubik’s Race”, “Rubik cubes” of different kinds and chess, amongst many.
There was evident progress in terms of:-
1) Analytical thinking.
2) Problem-solving skills.
3) Crisis assessment.
4) Learning from mistakes. Theirs and others are alike.
5) Introduction to healthy competitiveness.
6) Training their memory.
And above all, a basic logical skillset.
We can proudly state that now our boys have aced at Sudoku, Kakoru, Word Search, Mastermind, cube solving, and Crosswords, to mention a few. A while ago when handed printed Sudokus, most of them solved it in record time.
Hence the progress from not being able to be vocal about their needs to this has been evident and the process can be seen in the video above.
- We are currently shifting focus to tablet-based gaming apps and computer games to get them acquainted with the technology. When they step out, we want them to feel inclusive and updated.
